I have decided to start a blog of the gardens that we are working on now. It should be a work in progress... I am trying to learn on a regular basis of what I am supposed to do now that I have decided that I really enjoy GARDENING (my parents probably would have wanted me to enjoy this around the age of 10... when I begged them to let me have a garden... and then promptly neglected it...)
These are the current photos of our gardens. The two below are the veggie and herb gardens. These are so far the easiest two gardens... the one on the left is vegetables... tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and lettuce. The herb garden contains sage, lemon balm (which I don't know what I should do with lemon balm...), basil, peppermint, oregano, thyme, chives and cilantro.
Here are the Sweet Laura's. It has been a three year wait for these. The first year I had them, they wilted and died. The second year, they came up, but didn't do much. This year they are gigantic AND I have a first bloom!!!!
Here are pictures of the blooming chive and sage. I read recently that sage attracts humming birds... but no humming birds yet!
Here is the fig tree we recently planted. When we bought a house we decided that we wanted a fig tree.... we are just getting to it this year...
We are also trying grapes this year! Lets see how this goes. They are definitely growing already... we are just waiting to find out if they are successful or not. How long does it take to actually get grapes?
I also posted some pictures of our BEAUTIFUL roses that are in full bloom right now. There is something eating the leaves currently... any thoughts on how to get bugs to stop eating the leaves? I will post a picture of the leaves in the future!
